The University of Utah congratulates 8,465 students who recieved their academic degrees on May 2, 2019.

RIT conferred some 4,200 degrees this academic year at all its campuses-including in Croatia, Dubai, Kosovo and China. The university held its 134th annual commencement celebration in May.

Bates College graduated 469 students from 36 states and 36 countries on May 26, 2019. Cumulatively, the Class of 2019 performed 80,000 hours of community service, exemplifying Bates' commitment to community learning and civic action.

Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

A total of 11,406 students enrolled during the 2019 spring term at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or to undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Bucknell University has released the dean's list for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2018-19 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition.

On May 8, more than 300 Wesleyan students received University prizes and awards during a reception. Wesleyan's awards, prizes, and scholarships program connects recipients to the legacies of alumni, administrators, faculty, and friends of the university whose lives and work are honored through endowed gifts. Recipients of the academic scholarships, fellowships, and prizes represent the highest ideals of Wesleyan--intellectual curiosity, academic excellence, creative expression, leadership, and service.

Twenty eight of the Marine Corps' newest officers will come from the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. Members of the Class of 2019 going into the Marines took their commissioning oaths on Friday, May 3 in Summerall Chapel. Every year, the commencement ceremony for the South Carolina Corps of Cadets is held the day after the commissioning ceremonies. Approximately 35% of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets Class of 2019 are now officers in all branches of the United States Armed Forces.

More than 500 members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets accepted diplomas during The Citadel's commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 4 in McAlister Field House. About 35% of the class accepted commmissions as U.S. military officers in all branches of service just prior to graduation. Graduates accepted their diploma from Citadel alumnus Gen. Glenn W. Walters, USMC (Ret.), who was officiating as president for the first time. The top academic programs for the Class of 2019 included business administration, criminal justice, mechanical engineering, civil engineering and political science.

McKendree University students will present, perform and exhibit their scholarly and creative works during the 2019 Academic Excellence Celebration on April 25 at the Lebanon, Ill., campus.

University of Alabama undergraduate student Richard Terry is now contracted with UA's Air Force ROTC detachment. Terry and 19 other UA students were sworn into UA AFROTC on Thursday, Sept. 21 at "Bama Salute," a UA Athletics-sponsored event that honors active duty military members and veterans at various UA sporting events throughout the year. The UA cadets were sworn in at a UA soccer game in front of nearly 700 people, an unusual but celebrated venue and audience, as contracting ceremonies are typically low-key, with family and other cadets and ROTC cadre present.
